Privacy Policy
Effective date: 1 October 2026
This policy explains how MotoCommander collects, uses, stores and protects personal information when you use our platform.
Who we are
MotoCommander is operated from Australia. We build software for motorcycle racing teams, academies, coaches and riders — covering race-weekend planning, bike setup, data-logging analysis, ECU tuning data, timing, weather, video review and coaching.
If you have a question about this policy or about your personal information, contact us at privacy@motocommander.com, or by post at: MotoCommander, Australia.
What we collect
We collect the following categories of information as you use MotoCommander:
- Account details from your sign-in provider — name, email address and profile picture, whether you sign in with Google, Apple, or email and password.
- Organisation and role membership — which teams, academies or organisations you belong to, and your role within them.
- Rider profiles — name, race number, class, nationality and, where a team enters it, date of birth.
- Race-weekend and session data — weekends, sessions, runs and the records a mechanic or engineer logs against them.
- Bike setup data — suspension, gearing, tyre pressures and the other setup values a team tracks per session.
- Data logger files and the metrics derived from them — lap times, speed, GPS positions and sensor channels such as throttle, brake, lean angle and suspension travel.
- Video and photos uploaded for analysis, including onboard footage and tyre condition images.
- Audio debriefs and their transcripts.
- Written notes and reviews left by coaches, engineers and team members.
- Usage analytics — pages visited, features used and timestamps of activity.
- Technical logs generated by our servers in the ordinary course of running the service.
Children and young riders
Many riders on MotoCommander are under 18. Where a rider is a minor, a parent or guardian creates and controls the account on their behalf, gives consent for any photo, video or audio associated with the rider, and may request that the rider's data be removed at any time by contacting us.
How we use it
We use personal information to:
- Operate the platform and provide the features you and your organisation use.
- Analyse a rider's performance for the rider and their team.
- Provide coaching reviews between riders, coaches and engineers.
- Generate AI summaries and setup or ECU recommendations from the data you choose to analyse.
- Improve and maintain the product.
- Send service messages, such as invite emails and notifications about your account.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who processes data on our behalf
We rely on a small number of specialist service providers to run MotoCommander. Each processes personal information only as needed to provide its service to us, under contract, and data may be stored and processed outside Australia as a result. They fall into these categories:
- Authentication and sign-in.
- Database, file storage and application hosting.
- Audio transcription for debriefs and voice notes.
- AI processing that produces summaries and recommendations from the data you choose to analyse.
- Transactional email delivery.
- Map and imagery tiles for logged-data and replay views.
- Publicly available race-timing results, which we import; this does not involve sending your personal information to the timing provider.
A current list of these providers is available on request from the contact address below.
Sharing inside the platform
Personal and performance data is visible to the organisations a person belongs to, according to their role within that organisation. A coach or engineer connected to a rider by consent can see that rider's own data. A parent or guardian can see their child's data. We do not share your data with other organisations or third parties outside of these relationships.
Reference data
We may use anonymised, aggregated lap data to build reference comparisons — for example, a track-best reference lap shown alongside a rider's own laps. No personal identifiers are attached to this reference data.
Retention
We retain personal information for as long as the associated account or organisation remains active. Usage events are retained for 12 months and then pruned. If you ask us to delete your data, we will do so subject to any legal or accounting obligation we have to keep it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access within the platform is controlled by role, and the credentials our servers use to reach the database and file storage are held server-side and are never exposed to a browser.
Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, and the GDPR where it applies to you, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@motocommander.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page along with a new effective date.
